That video of the zombie woman using the neti pot is nothing. You should have seen the REALLY disturbing ones I found when searching for an appropriate video to post. I’d include a couple of links but don’t want to be responsible for any more nightmares.

I watched the horrific video of that zombie-woman with a jet of water running from her nose the other day while reading this site.

Last night I had a dream about neti pots. I was a kid again and had been sent to summer camp or some other similar establishment with a Jonestown type feel to it. My nose itched and they would let me scratch it but tried to hold me down and shove the end of a neti pot in my nose. I didn’t get any further than that, but the beginning of the dream which established the weird cult-ishness of this place creeped me out. I actually woke up and got mad for a few minutes at my parents for sending me there.

I’m going to blame Jonathan for this one. The power of wantonly disseminated video through the internet is a big responsibility. Use it wisely, you never know who you’re going to scar.

I’d agree with Jonathan; my doc said only use 1/2 a packet of the salt solution until you feel more comfortable. I was up half the night coughing my lungs out, until I got up at 3AM and did a neti pot (not even a full one) and then I was able to sleep until J woke me up at 6am. Keep them handy, and don’t be afraid to try it again!

Funny! I just wrote a post about neti pots. I’ve been using it for several days now and I’m a believer. If it burns trying using less salt solution. Then try adding a bit more each time until you get to the recommended amount. The one time I felt it burn a bit I thought I had too much salt in there.

On Internet Addiction and Neti pots

As was alluded to, we were missing our Internet and phone access the last couple days. Despite my best efforts to connect to our neighbor’s network (with their approval, of course), I couldn’t connect and I eventually gave up. For 2 nights we suffered at our technological misfortune. Now we’re back and I can’t think of a single thing to do with our restored connection. Sure, I’m checking progress on an upgrade at work, and I caught up on LOLcats and some web comics, but I’m just wasting this connection…
